My Lineol collection is still growing, absolutely thrilled with these:
The detail on these figurines, particularly the Wisent and Bactrian Camel, is beautiful. Each one has so much detail, the artist really put a lot of effort into getting them accurate.
A while ago I purchased a Watusi cow from Shapeways.
Shapeways is a 3D model printing company.
The cow was designed by a member of the STS forum - the animals are designed using a special computer program.
I'm not keen on the material they are printed in, which is a hollow, furry textured plastic (I'd prefer a smooth surfaced solid model). I love the sculpture though, it is very realistic.
I've painted it with acrylics, they took well to the material but the textured plastic spoils the effect, resulting in the white markings not coming out quite how I wanted them to.
This chap I've been wanting for years, I've seen him for sale now and then but for tip top prices and only from the USA. I'd almost given up hope of ever finding one for a reasonable price. A couple of weeks back I just did my regular search for North Light horse and up popped him! For such a good price and in perfect condition, I could hardly believe my eyes. Honestly, I couldn't have pressed the "buy it now" button faster!
So here he is, the handsome original made in England North Light Clydesdale:
